Pinstripe Sweater is knitted from the top down with increases on every round on the yoke.
The stitch pattern on the sweater consists of 4 knit stitches followed by a purl stitch. This creates a beautiful eye-catching pattern, while at the same time being easy to knit. The pattern is repeated over the entire sweater.
The neckband is knitted first. It is folded double and then knitted down on the wrong side of the work.
Short rows are worked on the yoke to ensure a good fit around the neck.
The shoulders are formed by working increases on both sides of 4 raglan markers on each round of the yoke. The work is then divided into the front and back, and these two sections are knitted back and forth separately to make the arm holes.
The body is knitted in the round in the stitch pattern, and is finished with a simple cast-off edge. Lastly, stitches are picked up for the arms. Short rows are worked along the pick-up edge so that the arms have a flattering fit.
The arms are knitted in the round in the stitch pattern with evenly spaced increases. Before the cuff is knitted, the stitch count is reduced and all stitches are cast off. Stitches are picked up again from the cast-off edge for the cuff, which is folded double towards the wrong side of the work before it is sewn down.
